A Brief Introduction

I have tried to write a little, matching my abilities with my dedication. If you like it, I will be happy. I began writing little by little from childhood and adolescence. My poems have been published in wall magazines, school and college magazines, and a few other publications. I served as the editor of the annual magazine for Shaheen School in 1982 when I was an eleventh-grade student. My first poetry book ‘Bidhbasto Shandhya’ (Devastated Evening), was published in 1986. The memories of that time at the book fair are the golden past of my life. Reciting my poetry at the first National Poetry Festival at TSC was an indescribable feeling. I wrote most of my poetry while studying in college and doing honors in economics. I also wrote many songs during that time.

During my training at the flying club, there was a magical moment when flying in the sky and writing poetry became one. That memory still reflects in the mirror of my heart, filling me with joy.

Meanwhile, I became increasingly involved in service-oriented and social work as a member of the Leo Club. Leadership through service. I found myself surrounded by many friends, lost in their company. The friends from Dhaka B. F. Shaheen School and College, and the Leo Club, were the best friends of my life. It felt as though they were my soulmates. I grew up in the love and affection of my siblings, parents, and the warmth of relatives. There was no shortage of love from them.

As Leo District President, I first came to America in 1988 to attend the 72nd Lions International Convention in Denver Colorado. After that, I visited America a few more times. Finally, in 1993, I settled in New York. Many years later, I moved to Atlanta. The ones who love me are my inspiration and the echo of my words. Writing poetry may not make one a poet, but it allows one to live on in the memories of friends and loved ones. Remember this, my friends, as my humble endeavor.
