"Revolution 2020" is a wonderful novel written by Chetan Bhagat, whoose known for his contemporary and relatable storytelling. Even though the book was published at 2011 I read at this time 2023 but for me it was beautiful imaginative story.It's more romantic between two man and a woman and socially inspiring moments that we can acquire. The story revolves around three main characters - Gopal, Aarti, and Raghav. Gopal is a young man from a small town with dreams of becoming rich and successful. Aarti is a girl he loves, and Raghav is his best friend who is passionate about bringing about a revolution in the corrupt education system. The novel explores their intertwined lives, ambitions, and the choices they make as they go through the challenges of love, career, and many societal expectations. First they move into is the "corrruption",The novel delves into the widespread corruption in the Indian education system, highlighting how it impacts the lives of the characters and the choices they make.The second they move in "Love and Friendship",In this part it explores the complexities and importance of love and friendship, as the characters face tough choices and make sacrifices in the pursuit of their goals.Another theme the writer moved into is where the level of "Ambition and Success".The characters are driven by their individual ambitions and dreams for their success, portraying the struggles and compromises they face on their journey. Chetan Bhagat's style of writing is known for his simple and conversational way of writing style, making his books reaching to a wide number of audience. The book "Revolution 2020" is no exception, with a narrative that flows smoothly and engages the reader with its relatable characters and situations. While the novel received commercial success, some critics have pointed out that the plot is predictable and the characters are somewhat like stereotypical. The writing style, though accessible, has also been criticized for lacking depth."Revolution 2020" is targeted at a young adult audience and those interested in contemporary Indian fiction. The novel addresses issues relevant to the youth, making it relatable to a wide readership. This book is a contemporary novel that tackles important social issues within the framework of a love story. One of the most favs❤

Every time Chetan Bhagat comes out with a new book, he manages to capture the interest and the awe of today’s youth. Every book brings out a bigger level of expectation than the one before. But unfortunately the book does not fulfill the craving of a book worm like me and leaves me disappointed. “Revolution 2020” the title is irrelevant till the last few chapters of the book. The tag line “love, corruption, ambition” describes it perfectly. The story is set in Varanasi, one of holiest places in India, considered as a places to cleanse oneself from sins. It’s a tale of three childhood friends, Gopal, Aarti and Raghav, who struggle to find their place in Varanasi. This story is about three friends who grow up in holy city of Varanasi. Two of the boys, both love the same girl, their third friend and girl is completely confused about both of them. Both the boys also have strong ambition. One wants to bring in a revolution and other wants to become rich. What happens in the end is a very messy affair between all of them and you left wondering about the aim of the book. This book was rarely light and entertaining. In fact, it is only in the last fifty pages that I found really interesting and worth reading. Mr. Bhagat says that only the reader can decide whether Gopal is a nice person or not. I agree with him. Chetan Bhagat always writes in simple English and this is no different. The plot confuses you even though it tries to cover so many topics in one story. The end spoils it all! You would rather expect a better twist.But this was too much. It is always easy to review someone else's work, but doing it yourself is much more difficult. Ultimately, his books sell like hot cakes and that is what matters the most. Whether you love it or hate it, you'll end up reading it.

অসাধারনের চেয়েও বেশি কিছু

This book somewhere made me look at my past. The story relates to my life so much ( not the politics and business part) As I felt the deep connection I didn't want the story to have a similar ending like my story. It could have been different. Gopal and Aarti should have end up together. However, the ending is not too nad either, but definitely not realistic. No one will give up on love of their life just to do charity.

চেতন ভগতের এটাই পড়া আমার প্রথম বই। এই বইটি পড়ার সময়ই জানতে পারলাম বিখ্যাত মুভি 3 idiots, koi po che এবং half girlfriend তারই লেখা বই। যাই হোক Revolution 2020 কে শুধু love story বলা যায়না। এতে আরও আছে corruption, ambition, এবং দুটি মানুষের মাঝে তুমুল এক পার্থক্য। এক জন তার মেধাকে টাকার জন্য ব্যবহার করছে এবং অন্যজন তার মেধাকে ব্যবহার করছে revolution এর জন্য। এই বইটি পড়ার পর থেকে আমি চেতন ভগতের ফ্যান হয়ে গিয়েছি।

Once upon a time, in small-town India, there lived two intelligent boys. One wanted to use his intelligence to make money. One wanted to use his intelligence to start a revolution. The problem was, they both loved the same girl. Eventually, both of them fulfilled their dream. But at a cost of losing something bigger. I am not going to spoil the story. Actually, its another Chetan Bhagats Bollywood inspired book. But its better than half girlfriend in the context of the story. In the first half, it narrates a cruel picture of our society, where you have to get chance in admission test in Engineering or medical admission test, In order to prove your merit. The writer described How the coaching system destroys a student's life. not only student's life but it costs you a fortune nowadays to admit in coaching center. But everyone is not lucky, so they look for the private institution. Where literally you can buy your own certificate. In the second half, it shows you the ugly side of politics, where politicians cleanse their black money under the cover of charitable institution. In between this, Chetan Bhagat continues a love triangle.

গল্পের নায়ক একজন ভাল মানুষ, এই সত্যটা লেখক একেবারে শেষে নিজের মুখে স্বীকার করবেন। যদিও পাঠকের যে সেই শুরু থেকেই নায়কের প্রতি ভালো লাগা তৈরি হবে, তা বলাই বাহুল্য। পাঠকের সেই অভিব্যক্তি যখন লেখকের নিজের মুখ থেকেও প্রকাশিত হবে, তখন পাঠক অবশ্যই বলতে পারে যে হ্যাঁ বইটার আসলেই হ্যাপি এন্ডিং হয়েছে। কিন্তু ব্যাপারটা আসলেও সেরকম তা না। আর সে কারণেই চেতন ভগতের আগের চারটি উপন্যাসের সাথে 'রেভল্যুশন ২০২০' এর কোন মিল নেই। 'রেভল্যুশন ২০২০'-ই হল লেখকের একমাত্র বই যার শেষাংশ বলিউডি ছবির মত প্রেডিক্টেবল হয়নি। প্রথম চার উপন্যাসের মাধ্যমে ধীরে ধীরে নিজের লেখনীর যে ট্রেন্ড লেখক গড়ে তুলছিলেন, এই বইতে এসে সেটাকে নিজের হাতেই ভেঙে দিয়েছেন তিনি। শেষটা হয়ত সিনেমাটিকই হয়েছে কিন্তু আমি মনে করি অন্তত এই বইকে কেউ 'বলিউডি কাহিনীর সাহিত্যিক সংস্করণ' বলে দাবি করতে পারবে না। 'রেভল্যুশন ২০২০'-কে, কে কোন চোখে দেখবে তা প্রতিটি ব্যক্তির নিজস্ব সিদ্ধান্ত। তবে প্রধানত একে 'ত্রিকোণ প্রেমের কাহিনী' বলাই উত্তম। হ্যাঁ, বইয়ের নাম থেকে অনেকেই রেভল্যুশনারি টাইপ বিষয়বস্তু আশা করতে পারেন। কিন্তু বস্তুত গল্পের কেন্দ্রীয় চরিত্র গোপাল যেভাবে তার জীবনের কাহিনীকে নিজের ভাষায় বর্ণনা করেছে, সেখানে তার জীবনের প্রেমকাহিনীটাই মুখ্য হয়ে উঠেছে। আনুসঙ্গিক যেসব বিষয় এই বইয়ে উঠে এসেছে যেমন রাজনীতি, দুর্নীতি, দেশের শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা, বিভিন্ন সামাজিক সমস্যা সেগুলো মূলত গোপাল-আরতি-রাঘবের প্রেমকাহিনীতে ক্যাটালিস্টের ভূমিকা পালন করেছে। আমার অন্তত সেটাই মনে হয়েছে। এই বইয়ের প্রেক্ষাপট ভারতের বেনারস শহর। কাহিনীর শুরু হয়েছে গোপাল আর আরতির বন্ধুত্বকে হাইলাইট করার মাধ্যমে। 'একটা ছেলে আর একটা মেয়ে কেন শুধুই বন্ধু হতে পারবে না' সেই পুরনো প্যাঁচাল এখানেও আছে। গোপাল চায় আরতিকে ভালোবাসার মানুষ হিসেবে পেতে কিন্তু আরতি চায় গোপাল শুধুই তার বন্ধু হোক। যেমন রাঘবও তাদের বন্ধু। আইআইটির ভর্তিযুদ্ধে অবতীর্ণ হল রাঘব আর গোপাল। রাঘব সফল কিন্তু দুইবার চেষ্টা করেও গোপাল ব্যর্থ। ক্রমে আরতিও দুর্বল হয়ে পড়তে লাগল রাঘবের প্রতি। 'আল্টিমেট লুজার' গোপাল যখন বুঝতে পারল তার দ্বারা জীবনে কিছু হবে না তখন এক দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত এমএলএ-র মাধ্যমে নিজেই একটা কলেজ খুলে বসল। আর এর ফলে সৎ সাংবাদিক রাঘবের সাথে শত্রুতা তৈরি হল গোপালের। ওদিকে আরতি আবারো গোপালের কাছাকাছি হতে থাকল। কিন্তু গোপাল যখন উপলব্ধি করবে রাঘবের রেভল্যুশনারি উদ্যোগের গুরুত্ব, তখন রাঘবকে সামনে এগিয়ে দিতে গিয়ে কি গোপাল তার ভালোবাসাকেও রাঘবের হাতে তুলে দেবে? 'রেভল্যুশন ২০২০' উপন্যাসের প্লট এমনই জটিল যে তাকে অল্প কথায় বলা সম্ভব না। বলতে গেলে স্পয়লার বের হয়ে আসবে। তবে এটুকু বলা যায়, লেখক বেনারসের প্রেক্ষাপটে রাজনৈতিক অবস্থার কথা তুলে ধরতে গিয়ে পুরো ভারতের দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত রাজনীতিকেই যেমন ইঙ্গিত করেছেন, তেমনি টানটান উত্তেজনার একটা ত্রিকোণ প্রেমের কাহিনীও বলতে চেয়েছেন। এক সময় বেনারসের রাজনীতির ভবিষ্যৎ আর এই ত্রিকোণ প্রেমকাহিনী উভয়ের লাটাই-ই যখন গোপালের হাতে এসে পড়বে, তখন গোপাল যা করবে তার মাধ্যমে মূলত গোপালের চরিত্রটাকেই অনেক বেশি মহিমান্বিত করে ফেলা হয়েছে। কিন্তু সেসব যাইহোক, কাহিনীর শেষে গোপালের কি হবে তা নিয়ে শুরু থেকেই পাঠকের মনে তুমুল আগ্রহের সৃষ্টি হবে আর বাস্তবিকই গোপালের কি পরিণতি তা হয় জানতে একেবারে শেষ পৃষ্ঠা পর্যন্ত পড়তে হবে। পরিশেষে বলব, চেতন ভগতের উপন্যাসের শেষে যেমনটা হয়ে থাকে, এই বইয়ের এন্ডিং ঠিক তেমনটা নয়। তাই অনেকেরই হয়ত এই কাহিনীর এন্ডিং ভাল লাগবে না। আমার নিজের কাছেও প্রথমদিকে এই কাহিনীর এন্ডিং মনঃপুত হয়নি। আসলে চেতন ভগতের লেখা থেকে এমন এন্ডিং আশা করি নাই বলেই হয়ত। তবু শেষে পুরো উপন্যাসের কাহিনীটা মনে মনে আরেকবার ভেবে উপলব্ধি করলাম, এর চেয়ে ভাল ফিনিশিং হয়ত এই উপন্যাসের হত না। আর সেটা বোঝার পরই মনে হল, এটা হয়তবা চেতন ভগতের এ পর্যন্ত প্রকাশিত ৫টি উপন্যাসের মধ্যে সেরা।

একটি বইয়ের রিভিউ লিখছি। বইটির হল চেতান ভাগাতের 'Revolution 2020'। যারা জানেন না তাদের বলে দেই, চেতান ভাগাত ভারতের বর্তমান সময়ের অত্যন্ত আলোচিত ও বিখ্যাত একজন ইংরেজি ভাষার উপন্যাসিক। বলিউদের সবচেয়ে ব্যবসায়িক সফল সিনেমা '3 Idiots' আসলে তারই লেখা প্রথম উপন্যাস 'Five point Someone: What not to do at IIT' এর গল্প থেকেই বানানো (অনুপ্রাণিত)। এবার গল্পের রিভিউটা বলে দেই। গল্পের পটভূমি হল ভারতের খুব ছোট কিন্তু পবিত্র নগর হিসেবে পরিচিত ‘ভারানাসি’। গল্পটি এ ভারানাসিরই তিন বন্ধু- গোপাল, রাঘাভ এবং আরতির। যাদের স্বপ্ন থাকে আকাশ-ছোঁয়ার। কিন্তু একেকজনের স্বপ্ন একেক। গোপাল আর রাঘাভ দুজনই বুদ্ধিমান ছেলে। গোপাল খুবই দরিদ্র ঘরের ছেলে। কম বয়সেই মা-হারা ছেলেটি ছোট থেকেই দারিদ্রতা দেখে দেখে বড় হয়েছে তাই সে স্বপ্ন দেখে যে সে একদিন অঢেল সম্পত্তির মালিক হবে। আর রাঘাভ মধ্যবিত্ত পরিবারের ছেলে। তার স্বপ্ন থাকে বিপ্লবের। সে দেশ ও দশের ভাল করতে চায়। সমাজের যত দুর্নীতি ও সন্ত্রাস তা দমন করে একটি সুন্দর সমাজ গড়াই থাকে লক্ষ্য। তাদের সব কিছুই ঠিক ছিল, কিন্তু বিপত্তি ঘটে যখন তারা দুজনই একই মেয়েকে ভালবাসে- আরতিকে। আরতি একটি প্রতাপশালী রাজনৈতিক পরিবারের মেয়ে। সে ছোট শহরের মেয়ে হয়েও স্বপ্ন দেখে একজন সফল বিমান-পরিচারিকা হওয়ার। এবং অন্য সব মেয়ের মত সেও চায় তার যেন এমন এক জীবনসঙ্গী হোক যে তাকে ভালবাসবে এবং যার সাথে তার জীবন নিরাপদ ও সুস্থির হবে। তাদের তিন জনেরই স্বপ্ন পুরনের প্রথম ধাপ থাকে ভারতের ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজে ভর্তির। রাঘাভ ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজে চান্স পায়, কিন্তু গোপাল পায় না। আরতি গোপালের খুব ভাল বন্ধু হওয়া সত্ত্বেও আরতি গোপালের সাথে নিজের সম্পর্ক বন্ধুত্ব পর্যন্তই রাখতে চায়। গোপাল তার গরিব বাবার স্বপ্ন পূরণের জন্য পরের বছর আবার ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজে ভর্তির চেষ্টা করে। কিন্তু এবারও সে বিফল হয়। তার অসুস্থ বাবাও এর মধ্যে মারা যান। গোপাল একা হয়ে যায়। না সে পায় তার মায়ের আদর, না তার বাবাকে সে খুশি করতে পারে আর না আরতি তার ভালবাসাকে গুরুত্ব দেয়- যা রাঘাভের প্রতি পাঠকদিকের মনে এক প্রকার মায়ার জন্ম দেয়। অন্যদিকে আরতির সাথে ভালবাসার সম্পর্ক হয় তখন রাঘাভের। গোপাল এটা সহ্য করতে পারে না। এবং এভাবেই গল্প চলতে থাকে। গল্পে আসে গোপালের দিন ফেরার মত পরিবর্তন। অন্যদিকে রাঘাভ পড়ালেখা শেষে চাকরী না করে তার বিপ্লবী হওয়ার স্বপ্ন পুরনে উদ্যত হয়ে সে শুরু করে তার প্রজেক্ট ‘Revolution 2020’। রাঘাভ তার কাজে ব্যস্ত থাকে তাই আরতিকে সময় দিতে পারে না। আরতির একাকীত্যের সঙ্গী হয়ে আসে তার বন্ধু গোপাল। আরতি পড়ে বিপাকে, সে থাকে গোপাল আর রাঘাভের মাঝে। তারও তো জীবনে স্বপ্ন আছে, স্বাদ-আহ্লাদ আছে। সে কাকে ভালবাসবে? কাকে বিয়ে করবে? এভাবে গল্পের মধ্যে সবসময়ই চলতে থাকে একপ্রকার দারিপাল্লার হিসাব। পাঠক এক সময় বিভ্রান্ত হয়ে যায়। কখনও দুর্বল হয় গোপালের প্রতি তো কখনও রাঘাভের প্রতি। কখনও মনে হয় আরতি দুশ্চরিত্রা একটা মেয়ে, আবার এক পর্যায়ে তার প্রতিই পাঠকের সহানুভুতি তৈরি হয়। কিন্তু শেষে এ বিভ্রান্তির ফয়সালা হয় একটা আকস্মিক ও দুঃখজনক ঘটনার মধ্যে দিয়ে যা পাঠকদের মনকে ভীষণভাবে নাড়া দিবে। সেটা জানতে হলে বইটা পড়তে হবে। আমি বাজি ধরে বলে দিতে পারি এই বইটা আপনি যখন পড়বেন আপনার মনে হবে যে আপনিই বুঝি ওই চরিত্র এবং তা আপনার অনুভুতিকে অন্য এক মাত্রায় নিয়ে যাবে । যারা এখনও বইটা পড়েন নি শীঘ্রই পড়ে ফেলুন। আশা করি আপনার ভাল সময় যাবে।
